Gogagah | Speak Policies, Implement Strategies | The Junior Philippine Economics Society held its annual Motions in Motion with the theme: “Promoting Intellectual Welfare for Sustainable Growth.” This aims to gather undergraduate economics students to foster a robust environment that encourages them to have insightful discussions and argue through the art of debating issues of high importance. This event highlights several motions geared toward policy discussions on socioeconomic issues.
This year’s Motions in Motion is specifically designed to further stimulate intellectual curiosity for developing progressive ideas that forward a holistic approach to true nationalist reform. One of its highlights is the various motions that was debated by participating teams and shall serve as focal points for policy discussions. These motions are curated in cognizance of the multiple
contexts of socioeconomic issues currently perpetrating our country’s economic landscapes. Through this, participating teams have the opportunity for a broadened understanding of the complex realities that mirror our status quo.
We welcome diverse ideas that add to the healthy discourse that utilizes the language of economics that strengthen the analysis of these socioeconomic issues and the arrival of more nuanced solutions.
The Junior Philippine Economics stands firm in its commitment to uniting undergraduate students in economics to develop the country consistently with the demands of our fast-changing world. Thus, we welcome the participating teams for the event, which took place on February 14, 2024, together with the whole member organizations and officers of the JPES to witness the exchange of ideas that equally paves the way for a collaborative environment and a sustainable and progressive economic landscape in the future.
